MyTVGuide is built for two kinds of remote. A full TV remote (Formuler and most Android TV boxes) has GUIDE, MENU, INFO and four coloured keys. A basic remote (Fire TV Stick, many streaming sticks) has none of those — just a D-pad, OK, Back, and play/pause. Everything below works on both: the coloured keys are shortcuts, never the only way in.
IN THE GUIDE
UP / DOWNMove between channels. The preview at the top keeps playing whatever you were last watching.
LEFT / RIGHTMove backwards and forwards through the schedule.
OK (tap)First press starts that channel in the preview; press again on the same channel to watch it full screen.
OK (press and hold)Opens the left menu — Guide, Movies, TV Series, Favourites, Settings.
BACKReturns to the channel you were watching, full screen. From the bottom bar, goes back to the channel list first.
PLAY / PAUSE or INFOJumps the cursor down to the bottom bar (Settings, Movies, TV Series, Favourites, Search, Remind, Go to Now, ±1 Day). Nothing is playing while you browse, so these keys are free.
MENUOpens the left menu — the same as holding OK.
Number keysTune straight to a favourite by its number, when favourites numbering is on.
Note:No coloured keys, no GUIDE, no MENU? Everything above is reachable without them. Hold OK for the left menu, and press PLAY/PAUSE to reach the bottom bar, which carries every action the coloured keys trigger.

MENUDeliberately does nothing inside a film, a series or while watching. It only opens the left menu from the Guide, Movies and TV Series home screens, so it can never interrupt what you are watching.
Note:If a button does nothing at all, see “A remote button does nothing” in Troubleshooting — Settings → Advanced has a Remote key test that names each button as you press it.
